Quieta is a product of Green Impact SIA.

The short version

Quieta never records audio. Not during monitoring, not in the background, not ever. The app measures sound levels (decibels) and vibration as numbers, and those numbers never leave your phone. There is no cloud, no account, and no third-party tracking.

What data the app collects

When you run a monitoring session, Quieta saves the following on your device:
- Sound level readings (dB) derived from your device's microphone
- Vibration magnitude readings from your device's accelerometer
- A noise classification label for each event (LOW / MEDIUM / HIGH)
- The date and time of each event
- Optionally, the fixed "home" location pin you set yourself (see "Location" below)

What the app never collects
- No audio recordings, voice data, or sound content of any kind. The microphone signal is converted to a numeric decibel value in real time; the audio itself is never stored, transmitted, or reconstructable.
- No live GPS tracking or movement history. Quieta does not track where you go.
- No contacts, photos, files, or browsing data.
- No advertising identifiers. The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

Location: your home pin

If you choose to use the noise heatmap feature, you can set a fixed home location pin manually. This single, user-chosen coordinate is attached to your recorded events so the app can display them on a map. It is set by you, stays on your device with the rest of your data, and can be changed or removed at any time. If you don't set a pin, no location data is stored.

Where your data is stored

All measurement data is stored in a local database on your device. Nothing is uploaded to any server. If you generate a PDF evidence report, the file is created on your device and is shared only if and when you choose to share it.

How long your data is kept

Your data is retained on your device indefinitely — until you delete it. Quieta does not auto-delete your measurement history; your evidence stays yours for as long as you keep it. You can erase all stored data at any time using the clear-data control in the app's settings, or by uninstalling the app.

Your controls
- Start and stop monitoring at any time — the microphone is used only during an active monitoring session.
- Delete all stored data with the in-app clear-data control.
- Set, change, or remove the home location pin at any time.
- Uninstalling the app removes all Quieta data from your device.

Permissions the app requests
- Microphone — used solely to compute numeric sound-level (dB) values during active monitoring. No audio is recorded or stored.
- Notifications — used to show monitoring status and alerts about detected disturbances.

Children

Quieta is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Because all data stays on your device, changes cannot retroactively affect data you have already collected.
